Our school joined the Schools Blood Donation Programmme organized by Hong Kong Red Cross on 8th November 2012. With the active participation of our students, our school was awarded Runner-up in the Jean Cassels Trophy and Commendation Shields and BTS Trophy and Commendation Shields, which were awarded for schools with the highest percentage participation and the highest number of donations respectively.

Parent-Teacher Association Spring Picnic
Parent-Teacher Association Spring Picnic was held on 5th May, 2013. The first spot was Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Garden where we had great fun of seeing plants and animals of rare species. Then we had buffet lunch at the Disciplined Services Sports and Recreation Club. At last, we went to Stanley to visit the Tin Hau Temple, the Stanley Plaza and the market as well. At around five o'clock, we returned to Yuen Long with delight and joy.

Author’s Talk
On 9th May, 2013, we were honoured to have the outstanding and experienced writer Mr. Chui Cheuk Yin, conduct a talk for our students on the delight of reading and writing fantasies. Mr. Chui gave us some useful tips on dealing with a new and original topic. The talk surely widened our students’ horizon and we were deeply inspired by Mr. Chui’s sharing.

About thirty students of our school have participated in two sessions of on-line chatting with bureau heads, raising queries on the recent policy address on issues of environmental protection, labour and social welfare respectively. “Policy Address- Viewpoints” was alive programme organized by Hong Kong Federation of Youth group on 29 and 30, January respectively. Tea Gathering with the Chief Executive CY Leung
On 17th November, 2012, the Chief Executive CY Leung has invited 40 secondary school students in Yuen Long district to join a tea gathering in the Fanling Lodge so as to know more about teenagers in Hong Kong. Our student, 5E Lee Lai Shan was chosen to be one of the school representatives. During the gathering, the Chief Executive first brought the students to take a visit to his garden. Then, they had a discussion about school lives, Hong Kong’s development and other topics in a rather casual way. It was a relaxing and substantial event and students greatly benefitted from this valuable experience.

45th Anniversary Swimming Gala
Students and staff were all smiles as NTHYKYLDSS enjoyed two fun-filled days during their annual Swimming Gala. The 2-day event was held at Yuen Long Swimming Pool on September 20th and 21st. Sunny weather helped make the event a roaring success.
