Careers Planning – HKUST Business School Admission TalkOn 9 October, the Career Team invited Mr. Colin Siu, Program Manager, Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions, Business School of HKUST to give a talk to S.6 and S.5 students so as to update students on the programs offered by the institution. Mr Siu introduced the restructured curriculum of BBA programs and the selection criteria of the school. Students are greatly benefited from the talk.
The Community Chest Dress Causal DayThe Community Chest Dress Casual Day 2014/2015 was held on 30 September 2014. To answer the Chest’s appeal, students and teachers put on their causal attires on the day to show their support and care for the needy. Over $34,600 was raised and the entire donation will be allocated to social welfare agencies supported by the Chest to help the needy and develop comprehensive social welfare services in Hong Kong, promoting the idea of fraternity.
Swimming Gala 2014-2015Staff and students descended on Yuen Long Swimming Pool for NTHYK Yuen Long District Secondary School’s annual Swimming Gala. Held over two days on September 25th and 26th, the event saw a plenty of excitement, support, great competition, and broken records.

School Parents’ Day and Parent-Teacher Association Annual General MeetingOur school Parents’ Day and Parent-Teacher Association Annual General Meeting was successfully held on 4th October 2014. We are honoured to have 228 parents attended our Parents’ Day.
In Parent-Teacher Association Annual General Meeting, Ms. Tsang Sau Ling was selected as the Chairperson and the parent representative in the School Management Committee (2014-2015). Ms. Chan Suk Ha was selected as one of Executive Committee Members.
S1 Careers Planning – “Discover Engineers Workshop”It was our pleasure to have representatives of the scheme of Learning through Engineering, Art and Design (LEAD) and IBM Limited to help organize the “Discover Engineers Workshop” for our S1 students on 12th September, 2014. The workshop aims to enrich their experience of learning and careers planning.
Careers Planning – Online JUPAS Application WorkshopsDate: 5 sessions on 23, 29/9/2014
Target: All S.6 students
Activity: Careers teachers help students to complete their initial JUPAS registration and introduce the basic operations in JUPAS.
Blood Donation DayOur school Blood Donation Day was successfully held on 30th Sep 2014. The number of donors was 73.
Swimming Gala 2014-2015Our school 45th Anniversary Swimming Gala was successfully held on 25th and 26th September 2014. Chung House won the overall Champion whereas Hok House won the Champion in Cheering Team Competition.
Alumni School VisitGraduates of the Year 1984 visited the school on 20th September 2014. In order to strengthen the bond between the school and alumni, the Alumni Association welcomed the graduates and presented them with the latest publication of the association. They had a lot of fun visiting the school campus and recalled a lot of good memories.
Career TalkWe are honored to have invited Mr. Nick Strong, Director of International and External Affairs, Institute of Literature, Languages and the Creative Arts, Aberystwyth University, to come to our school and gave us a talk on studying in UK and how to write self statements.
Community Participation Scheme for Organizing Exchange Tours to the Mainland 2014-2015In August 2014, our students 4D Wu Yan Hang and 4E Sha Wing Shuen participated in Community Participation Scheme for Organizing Exchange Tours to the Mainland 2014-2015. They visited a school in Heyuan and helped students to learn English and Science. They developed a better understanding of the cultures of Heyuan through visiting the local families and historical buildings. They found the tour very meaningful and rewarding.
House Meeting 2014/2015The 2014/15 House Meeting was successfully held on 4th September. The house teachers and members of the four houses: Heung, Yuen, Chung and Hok, attended the meeting.
SA Election 2014/2015The elections for the new Student Association of this academic year was successfully held in the school hall on 3rd September.
2014-15 Academic Year Opening CeremonyOur school’s 2014-15 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was successfully held on 1st September 2014.
The 13th Singapore-Hong Kong Exchange Programme 2014In Heung Chung, learning is not confined to the textbooks and classrooms. Eight S.2 students of our school joined the 13th Singapore-Hong Kong Exchange Programme 2014 from 13th to 27 th July. This programme is organised by Singapore Ministry of Education and Hong Kong Education Bureau. During this period, they had to study in different secondary schools in Singapore and live with the host families. The aim of this exchange programme is to promote cultural and educational exchanges of the students from the two cities.
HKDSE 2014Heung Chung students got excellent results in the HKDSE 2014.

HKSAR Outstanding Students Selection 2014With a view to encouraging secondary school students to utilize their potentials and strive to foster a balanced development among academic performance, extra-curricular activities, community services, leadership and self-awareness, JCI Yuen Long and the HKSAR Outstanding Students’ Union have organized the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Outstanding Students Award 2014.
After attending several rounds of interviews, S.6 Lee Lai Shan and S.5 Man Sze Yan were shortlisted to be the finalists, and LEE Lai-shan was finally selected to be one of the ten outstanding students.
2014 We Love Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Youngsters SelectionThe We Love Hong Kong Association has organized the annual “We Love Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Youngsters Selection” to recognize and award students with outstanding achievements.
